Artificial intelligence skills are becoming a key hiring requirement across South Korea's economy. Growing demand for both experienced professionals and entry-level candidates highlights how deeply AI is being integrated into business operations.
South Korean employers are increasingly seeking workers with artificial intelligence expertise, reflecting the growing role of AI across a wide range of industries.
According to recruitment platform JobKorea, around 15,000 job postings mentioning AI were registered between January and May this year. The increase significantly outpaced overall hiring growth during the same period, indicating strong demand for AI-related capabilities.
The rise was particularly noticeable in entry-level recruitment, where AI-focused openings grew by roughly 80 percent compared with the previous year. This suggests companies are not only hiring experienced professionals but are also investing in developing future AI talent.
Most industries tracked by the platform reported growth in AI-related hiring. Education recorded the largest increase, while media, advertising, culture, arts, design, healthcare, and pharmaceutical sectors also posted substantial gains.
A JobKorea representative noted that AI hiring is no longer concentrated within technology companies and is now becoming a hiring priority across many sectors of the economy.
The trend reflects a renewed expansion in AI recruitment as organizations continue to integrate artificial intelligence into their operations. Major South Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, are among those actively competing for AI and data-related talent.
