ICICI Life Insurance plans to onboard 20,000 women financial advisors nationwide by the close of FY2027 under its flagship Narishakti initiative, building on a network of over 78,000 women agents. While women represent roughly 32% of the insurer's active advisor force, they drive approximately 45% of total agency sales, generating over half of regional agency business across key markets including Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kerala.

ICICI Life Insurance Limited has announced plans to recruit 20,000 women advisors across India by the end of FY2027 as part of its dedicated Narishakti initiative, marking two years since the program’s introduction.

Announced on October 15 during Navratri, the recruitment target aims to capitalize on the disproportionate productivity demonstrated by female agents within the insurer's distribution architecture. As of September 30, 2026, the company had more than 78,000 women advisors active across its agency network.

High-Output Distribution and Regional Dominance Data released by the insurer indicates strong performance and high retention among its female sales cadre:

  • Disproportionate Sales Contribution: While women comprise approximately 32% of ICICI Life’s aggregate advisor force, they generate roughly 45% of the company's total agency business.

  • Regional Leadership: Women advisors account for more than 50% of agency sales in metropolitan and tier-one regions, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kerala.

  • Tenure and Global Recognition: About 47% of active women advisors have stayed with the insurer for more than a decade, with over 500 women qualifying for the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)—the premier global benchmark for life insurance and financial services professionals.

“We, at ICICI Life Insurance, firmly believe that ‘Talent has no gender’... Navratri is the perfect occasion to welcome more women advisors into our Narishakti force, equipping them with the skillsets needed to actively drive our government’s vision of Insurance for All by 2047.” — Amish Banker, Chief Distribution Officer, ICICI Life Insurance

Flexible Work and Financial Planning Onboarding Launched in 2024, the Narishakti initiative was built to provide women from diverse walks of life—including homemakers, salaried professionals, and entrepreneurs—with a pathway to develop sustainable financial planning careers:

  • Zero Capital Barrier: The program requires no upfront monetary investment from candidates.

  • Flexible Engagement: Participants are offered tailored, flexible working arrangements paired with comprehensive product and advisory training.

  • Relationship-Centric Advisory: Management attributed the cohort’s above-average conversion to consultative customer engagement and sustained client servicing beyond the initial policy sale.
