The Staff Selection Commission has launched online applications for 365 positions in the Indian Coast Guard across Navik, Yantrik, and Hygienist-I roles for eligible Indian citizens, closing on October 21. Selection involves a four-stage process featuring a computer-based examination, physical tests, an assessment test, and document verification at INS Chilka, with starting basic salaries ranging from Pay Level 3 to Pay Level 5.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has initiated the online registration window for 365 vacancies in the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). Applications opened on October 6 and will remain accessible through ssc.gov.in until October 21.
Candidates are required to safeguard their registered email address and mobile number throughout the recruitment cycle, as the Coast Guard will not process retrieval requests for misplaced credentials needed to access dashboards, admit cards, and results.
Educational Criteria & Batch DOB Limits
- Navik (General Duty): Class 12 pass with Mathematics and Physics from a COBSE-recognized board. Candidates for batches 01/27 and 02/27 must have been born between November 1, 2005, and May 1, 2009.
- Navik (Domestic Branch): Class 10 pass from a recognized COBSE board. Date of birth for batch 02/27 must fall between November 1, 2005, and October 1, 2009.
- Yantrik: Class 10 pass plus an AICTE-approved three- or four-year diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering (or Class 10/12 with a two-to-three-year approved diploma). Date of birth for batch 01/27 must be between May 1, 2005, and May 1, 2009.
- Hygienist-I: Matriculation, ITI, or equivalent qualification recognized by Central/State authorities. Date of birth for batch 02/27 must range between November 1, 2002, and October 1, 2009.
4-Stage Selection Process
- Stage I (CBT): A 60-minute bilingual computer-based exam consisting of 100 questions (1 mark each, no negative marking). Qualifying thresholds are 40 marks for UR/EWS/OBC and 35 marks for SC/ST.
- Stage II (Physical & Adaptability Checks): Biometric and identity screening, document review, an Assessment and Adaptability Test, and a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) comprising a 1.6-km run, squats, and push-ups/sit-ups under gender-specific benchmarks.
- Stage III (INS Chilka): Provisional shortlisting for further assessments conducted at INS Chilka for candidates clearing prior stages on merit.
- Stage IV (Document Authentication): Comprehensive verification of original academic and category credentials.
Remuneration and Perquisites
- Yantrik: Basic pay of ₹29,200 (Pay Level 5) plus ₹6,200 Yantrik pay and applicable allowances.
- Navik (GD), Navik (DB), and Hygienist-I: Basic pay of ₹21,700 (Pay Level 3) plus standard allowances.
- Benefits: Free clothing, government accommodation/HRA, subsidized ration, medical care for dependents in Military Hospitals, CSD canteen privileges, NPS/UPS pension, and ₹75 lakh insurance under the Naval Group Insurance Fund.
