Government recruitment exams like RPSC RAS continue to attract strong interest despite rapid growth in private-sector technology jobs. Stable career opportunities, administrative authority and long-term job security remain key reasons why state civil service exams are highly competitive among graduates across India.
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has officially released the notification for RPSC RAS Recruitment 2026, opening applications for 607 vacancies across Rajasthan State Services and Subordinate Services. The recruitment drive is aimed at filling administrative and government positions through the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Examination 2026.
According to the official schedule, the online registration process will begin on June 4, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until July 3, 2026, through the official RPSC website.
Candidates applying for the examination must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university established under Central or State legislation or an institution recognised by the Government of India. The age limit for applicants is set between 21 and 40 years, with age relaxation applicable for reserved categories according to government norms.
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages, including a Preliminary Examination followed by the Main Examination. The preliminary exam will consist of one objective-type paper carrying 200 marks and will serve only as a screening test. Marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be considered in the final merit ranking.
Candidates qualifying in the preliminary stage will be eligible to appear for the Main Examination, which will determine the final merit list and selection for various administrative positions under the Rajasthan government.
RPSC has also announced the application fee structure for different categories. General category and creamy layer OBC candidates are required to pay ₹600 as the application fee, while reserved category candidates including SC, ST, OBC non-creamy layer, EWS, Sahariya tribe and persons with disabilities need to pay ₹400. The fee payment process will be conducted entirely online.
The Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) examination is considered one of the most prestigious state-level competitive exams in Rajasthan and attracts thousands of candidates every year seeking careers in government administration, public service and policymaking roles.
Officials have advised candidates to carefully review the eligibility criteria, examination guidelines and official instructions before applying online.
