UPSC Invites Applications for 80 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner Posts

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened direct recruitment for 80 positions in the Central government. The vacancies are for the post of Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner in the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), which functions under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

According to UPSC, the vacancies include 28 positions for the Unreserved category, eight for Economically Weaker Sections, 18 for Other Backward Classes, 15 for Scheduled Castes and 15 for Scheduled Tribes. Three of the total vacancies have been reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

The Commission has released the detailed information under Special Advertisement No. 52/2026, along with application instructions, on its official website. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the Online Recruitment Application portal between August 22, 2026, and September 11, 2026.

As outlined in the advertisement, Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners will handle responsibilities related to enforcement, recovery, accounts, administration, cash, legal matters, pensions and computer-related work. The role also involves statutory and administrative duties, including conducting inquiries, processing claims, managing general administration, maintaining financial records, reconciling bank statements and handling MIS returns.

The position is permanent and is classified as a Central Board Group 'A', non-ministerial post, equivalent to the corresponding Group 'A' pay level of the Central Government.
