The cancellation and rescheduling of NEET UG 2026 has become one of the biggest examination controversies in recent years, raising serious concerns about the security of India’s national testing system. While authorities aim to restore trust through re-examination and investigation, the incident has created major emotional and academic pressure for millions of medical aspirants preparing for one of the country’s most competitive entrance exams.

National Testing Agency announced that the re-examination for:

  • NEET UG 2026

will now be conducted on:

  • June 21, 2026 (Sunday)

The decision comes after the agency cancelled the original examination held on:

following allegations of:

  • Question paper leaks
  • Exam irregularities
  • Organised cheating networks

The controversy affected:

  • Lakhs of medical aspirants across India and overseas centres.

Government Orders Investigation

The:

    • 410 questions

was allegedly circulated among students:

  • Between 15 days and one month before the exam

Officials claimed:

  • Around 120 Chemistry questions reportedly matched the actual examination paper almost exactly.

Authorities also said:

    • WhatsApp groups
    • Coaching networks

as little as:

  • 42 hours before the exam.

Rajasthan Police Leading Initial Probe

The investigation is currently being handled by:

  • Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group

Additional Director General:

  • Vishal Bansal

said investigators are examining whether:

  • The document was simply a coaching test series or:
  • Part of a larger organised cheating racket

Authorities have reportedly conducted:

  • Searches
  • Questioning
  • Digital investigations

across:

  • Rajasthan
  • Dehradun
  • Maharashtra

Social Media & Coaching Centres Under Scrutiny

Investigators are also reviewing:

  • Social media videos
  • Coaching institute materials
  • Shared question papers

linked to coaching centres in:

  • Latur, Maharashtra

Officials said similarities between the leaked material and actual NEET questions raised serious concerns regarding:

  • Exam integrity
  • National testing security
  • Digital information leaks

Fresh Admit Cards to Be Issued

The:

  • National Testing Agency

said:

  • Fresh admit cards
  • Updated schedules
  • Examination instructions

will be released through official channels soon.
